About me
Shayla has spent the last 20 plus years teaching math! She taught Math at Hood River Valley High School for fifteen years before moving to WYMS where she had the opportunity to teach middle school learners for six years and is beginning her 7th year there as instructional coach. Shayla is passionate about creating a classroom environment that is warm and inviting and one in which students are engaged, collaborate, take risks, and grow. Shayla advocates for equity and helps to provide opportunities and resources for ALL students to achieve and succeed. Shayla looks forward to supporting teachers in instructional strategies such as AVID and SIOP to help reduce barriers and empower our learners to be their best.
