Kimberlie has taught for 18 years in the same small school district, a place where change normally happens slowly. But today’s web-connected technology brings accelerated change, and Kimberlie finds herself on the school’s electronic vanguard. She was the first teacher to integrate Skype, Google Hangouts, and iBooks into a course curriculum. Her 6th graders are excited to be connected with peers who live in other parts of the world, and their latest project is to create individual student websites, with an aim of sharing their knowledge and passions around the globe. From Google Docs to Google Slides to Powtoons and Glogster, Kimberlie and her students embrace GAFE and other apps in their daily classroom routine.
